Oklahoma City Invisalign

Does having crooked teeth interfere with your sense of confidence or self-esteem? Do you feel like your smile is unattractive, but you don’t want to be seen in class orthodontic metal braces either? Invisalign is the convenient, hardly detectable way to quickly straighten your teeth without interfering with your daily life. Whether your teeth are crooked, widely spaced, or crowded, Oklahoma City Invisalign™ can help straighten your teeth without the hassle of traditional metal braces.

How Does it Work?

Invisalign™ creates sets of high-strength thermoplastic aligners to be worn over the teeth and move them into their ideal alignment in the matter of months. By adjusting the form of your teeth in small increments with a new set of aligners every two to three weeks, teeth gently transition into place. All the normal functions of brushing, flossing, eating, and chewing can take place because Invisalign is removable. Go ahead and enjoy that movie popcorn you crave, or bite into that apple without fear that your metal braces may break, trap food, or make eating difficult. Invisalign only takes 6-18 months on average to straighten teeth, whereas metal braces can take upwards of 2-3 years. Invisalign is quickly becoming the favorite form of convenient and discreet braces.

The Process

The process towards beginning your Invisalign treatment is simple. First, your Oklahoma City dentist will use photos and X-rays to form a digital map of your teeth, while creating a molded impression to serve as the base for developing custom aligners. Using modern digital technology, this information is processed through Invisalign software to display a comprehensive step-by-step process of how your teeth will change over time. Once the designs have been approved, your custom made aligners will be processed and sent back for proper fitting.

At your second appointment, any smoothing or polishing of the aligners will take place then and there, to be able to be worn immediately. Your dentist will walk you through how to properly care for and clean your aligners, and educate you further on the process. It is normal to feel some discomfort when beginning Invisalign™ treatment, or at the start of every new pair of aligners, because they are made to predict where your teeth will rest at the end of every two weeks. However, this discomfort usually subsides quickly.

Finally, it’s your turn to start wearing Invisalign! Wear your clear braces comfortably for 20-22 hours a day, easily removing them to eat or brush and floss, and to check on their progress. Every two weeks, replace your aligners with a new set, to continue straightening your teeth in small increments. You may be provided a dental retainer at the completion of your Invisalign process to preserve the alignment of your teeth in the future.
